Cherubs, blooming roses and embroidered capes made for cardinals were the rage at the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 show. Did I ever think that cherubs and roses would work so well together? No...do they..Yes! I do love that the cherubs print has been brought into existence..makes me wonder what designers will decide to use next.
When I saw this dress, first thing that came to mind was my holy communion outfit..(without the black shoes and socks of course)
Cherubs and roses..a match made in heaven!
And of course, when I saw this collection, I fell in love with the headpieces which really complimented the entire collection. Here are a couple of some close up shots of the headpieces (that I wish I could lay my hands on)...
Inspiration for the collection came from Dominico Dolce's native Sicily, especially its baroque religious traditions. I think it is safe to say that we can all see it manifested in the collection.
